I had always wanted to write my family's history.
And not just to skim the surface of numbers and dates and ages, but to do something deeper, to learn the things that made them love, and laugh, and cry, and do the things they always did. I wanted to dive into the people.... not just the history.
I filled a notebook with five generations worth of stories pulled from photos and newspapers and journals and scrapbooks and old 16mm footage. Five generations worth of stories that that mark the moments and memories of other peoples' lives. People I choose never to forget.
It is the thing I am most proud of.
